Thirtyeverything…
Let’s face it, I mean I have to face it. I’m not anymore thirtysomething, since tomorrow at 13.50 I’ll be physically 40 years old. Thirtyeverything, been there, done that.
The last week of my thirties was not too eventful, still waiting for many development especially in the professional field. Anyway, I feel pretty energetic and happy, because it’s summer!
On Monday we celebrated the Italian National Day at the Ambassador’s residence and it was very nice, because the weather allowed the crowd to use also the garden. I remember some quite cold years. We had a long chat with signora Luciana Manninen, the only person who has been teaching us both!
On Tuesday just a Pomus.net -meeting and on Wednesday me and Black Mike checked the exhibition opening of photographer Kari Riipinen in Galleria Uusitalo.

On Thursday I finally finished the mailing of promotional CD-ROM to Finnish theatres. I’ve had that project in my mind for 2 years and I’m so happy to have it finally done. On the Thursday evening we had the annual meeting of Vapaa Sana. On Friday it was the first officially hot day, but I stayed home doing some writing and struggling with the stupid dilemma of the digital era: how to burn DVDs from the recorded TV programs. It wouldn’t be a problem, if we lived in a house with an antenna, but for digital TV in cable there is no hard disk-DVD recorder in the world.
Today Johanna has been really efficient: she drove back from Turku, picked up my birthday cake for tomorrow, took me to ride and rode herself, too… and after dinner we went to see “Sex and the City”, the movie. Maybe that’s why I started writing this in English. Really worth seeing, if you have been following the show. For the others, I’m not sure, but at least it’s a different film and sets new standards for product placement. Yep, that’s it: now just looking forward to my little birthday party tomorrow and the fortysomething decade.
