Thanks to my dear wife for reminding me of this valuable tradition of ours started a year ago… Right now I’m too tired to update the travel blog, but maybe I’ll just manage to fill up this questionnaire:

Best book
Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s Infidel which I have only started, but she’s the most important living person in my opinion!

Best song
Too many candidates, but I go for Franco Battiato’s latest duet with Carmen Consoli: Tutto l’universo obbedisce all’amore

Best album
According to my Last.fm account it’s by far Severinas Zdravo Marijo. It’s a Balkan feast! Have you ever heard a truck horn used so well in a music piece?

Best radio
Still the same as last year: SR Sisuradio, Radio Italia and Russkoje Radio, but more and more Last.fm.

Best film
Sex and the City was a big relief. Finally it’s over. On TV one of the best was El Camino de San Diego of Carlos Sorin, but it’s 2 years old.

Best TV show
TV is dead. However, I enjoyed a lot learning Russian from the great TV films Doktor Zhivago and Master i Margarita.

Best live show
The final of Tallitähdet at Helsinki International Horse Show.

Worst moments
Breaking the arm 6 weeks after the brain stroke…

Best moments
All the moments spent with my loved ones. In a way, also the week spent in the hospital after the brainstroke.

Worst enemies
Dishonest and mean people.

Best friends
My wife and our animal companions. Period.

Best newcomers in my life
Although this was not a very social year I need to mention: Janne Hyöty and the whole Österbotten bunch of people, my new Irish family through my little sister plus of course Mette Perregaard, Astridur, Tero & Karolina and all the other Scandinavian housemates in Rome. Luv!

Best comeback in my life
Maarit Niiniluoto. Leena & Jukka. Milana & Vesa. Too little time spent together, but so significant to me.

I will miss…
The innocence and the feeling of invincibility of my youth. I’m f**king 40 now.

Best waste of time
Facebook and blogs.

Worst waste of time
People that steal my energy. Following any Finnish news media.

Best meal
Every meal at Monzù Vladì in Trastevere, Rome and Crete Gialle, Cervaro. In december only I gained 2 kilos…

Best drink
Alcohol. Hey, I quit smoking this year! It’s not healthy to become a saint at once.

Best new item
My MacBook which gave me freedom to create wherever I go.
