Johanna’s year 2011
January-April
The longest winter ever or so it seemed. At some point I thought it would never end! Life was work as usual, lot of travelling and too little time for anything else.
Cold. Snow. Cold.
May
Time of transition. Decided to leave Medtronic. Spent one week in Stockholm in the wonderful Villa Bergshyddan with Petri.
June - August
Beautiful, wonderful and free summer! Spent a lot of time at the stable and in Kerimäki. Managed to see some old friends too. In July experienced my first ever rock festival Ilosaarirock in Joensuu! Organizing things, packing, cleaning etc. Almost lost my mind going through all the stuff that we’ve gathered in 15 years…

September - December
Exile in Argentina! A dream come true. September spent travelling around the counry, more than 4500km by bus. Settled in Buenos Aires in October and started studying Spanish at the University of Buenos Aires. Getting more familiar with the Argentinian way of life.

Best book
Nomad by Ayaan Hirsi-Ali. Awareness by Anthony De Mello is a book that I also read a lot in 2011.
Best song
I listened a lot of James Blunt and Sielun Veljet in order to prepare for their gigs! A new song that I liked was Kiljut Riemusta by Vesterinen yhtyeineen.
Best album
Erikoismiehen jäähyväiset by Vesterinen yhtyeineen. Veronica Maggio’s Satan i gatan was a nice surprise!
Best radio
I have said this before but all the radio in Finland is the same. And now that Jaajo has quit at Suomipop I cannot even listen to it anymore 
.
Best film
Svinalängorna (Beyond) by Pernilla August that I finally managed to see in Buenos Aires at the Nordic Film Festival.
Best TV show
The Good Wife, Amazing Race and Diili, the Finnish version of the Apprentice.
Best live show
James Blunt at Kaisaniemi in June. Ilosaarirock in Joensuu in July with the come-back gig of Sielun Veljet.
Worst moments
There were some but everything happens for a reason and things always go as they should. That’s the lesson of 2011 for me!
Best moments
Summer of 2011. Not working, for once having enough time for my family and my horse. Starting yoga. Studying Spanish at UBA.
Worst enemies
They definitely were closer than they seemed to be!
Best friends
My husband, my family and my animals.
Best newcomers in my life
My new friends in Argentina.
Best comeback in my life
Writing. I’ve written columns for Puruvesi, the local newspaper in that area, about our life in Argentina. Also this blog has somehow become my responsability!
I will miss
Some people that I used to work with.
Best waste of time
Skype and Facebook.
Worst waste of time
Negative people.
Best meal
In general all the meat that I have consumed in Argentina. The best in the world!
Best drink
I actually found out that there is such thing as drinkable Cabernet Sauvignon. It just has to be from Argentina!
Best new items
My MacBook Air and my iPhone.
